What our app does and why it needs your information

Through pairing with PixoTest® Vision Analyzer via Bluetooth, PixoHealth Vision App will obtain your lipid testing results by synchronizing the data to your mobile app. PixoHealth Vision App provides personal charts to help you understand the change of the measured results clearly and keep track of the historical data easily. Additionally, our app also provides the service of “Your AI Health Coach”, letting AI assist you in understanding the meaning of your testing results and answer any questions related to interpreting your personal lipid testing results. In order to provide those services, we need related information from you, and without those information our app is not able to operate properly.

What information we collect

Personal information you provide voluntarily

When you use our app, we ask you to provide some personal information voluntarily, such as

• Your e-mail address
• Your age (year of birth)
• Your name / nickname
• Your biological sex
• Your profile picture

and the following Health Data:

• Height & weight
• Values of Total Cholesterol (TC), Triglycerides (TG), High-density lipoprotein(HDL).
• Calculated values of Low-density lipoprotein (LDL) by analyzer.

We use the Health Data only for the following purposes:

• to build your user profile
• to provide you with the following PixoHealth Vision App functions: Display lipid test results and self-monitoring.
• to provide you with the AI Q&A service — Your AI Health Coach
• to make notifications to you

We use the information which is not Health Data for the same purposes as described above for the Health Data and also for the following purposes:

• to register you with our service and maintain your account;
• to send you service-related communications

Other information we collect

Aside from personal information, we also collect certain information about your mobile device. This includes your device’s IP address, OS version, app version, device model name, etc. We use this information for analytical purposes to understand how our users interact with our services, and to personalize your experience of our app.

Who else sees your information

To provide this app and our service to you, we work with certain third party service providers. These service providers will have access to your information for the purposes described in this privacy policy, and we require them to protect it in accordance with the standards set out in this privacy policy.

In addition, we may also disclose your information to law enforcement, competent government authorities and other third parties where we believe are required to do so by applicable law or regulation (including a court order), or where we believe disclosure is necessary to exercise, establish or defend legal rights or to protect the vital interests of any person.

If a third party buys all or part of our business or assets, then we may also disclose your information in connection with the sale. Where we do, we will inform the third party that it is required to use your information only for the purposes set out in this privacy policy.

How we keep your information secure

We use appropriate technical and organizational measures to keep the information we collect about you secure at all times

Data security is an evolving risk, and so we regularly monitor the threats to data and adjust our security measures as appropriate to adapt to these. However, you should understand that no organization or its systems can ever be guaranteed 100% secure all the time, and so should only share online or through mobile apps personal information which you are comfortable sharing acknowledging this risk.

Where your information gets sent

Depending on your location where you use or register the app, your data will be stored on local servers or neighboring territories. Our service providers are based in various countries around the world including Taiwan, Ireland, the US and Japan, and your information will also get transferred to these countries for the purposes described in this privacy policy.

Don’t worry though – even if these countries do not have data protection laws that are equivalent to the country in which you reside, your personal information will continue to be protected in accordance with this policy.

Your rights

In addition, if you are a resident of the European Union, you can object to processing of your personal information, ask us to restrict processing of your personal information or request portability of your personal information. Furthermore, you can opt-out of receiving our marketing communications at any time, even if you previously indicated that you wanted to receive these. Please note that even if you opt-out of receiving marketing communications from us, you will continue to receive messages related to your account and the provision of our service – such as billing confirmations and general service updates.

Retention Period

We retain personal information we collect from you where we have an ongoing legitimate business need to do so (for example, to provide you with a service you have requested or to comply with applicable legal, tax or accounting requirements).

When we have no ongoing legitimate business need to process your personal information, we will either delete or anonymize it or, if this is not possible (for example, because your personal information has been stored in backup archives), then we will securely store your personal information and isolate it from any further processing until deletion is possible.
